For every kitchen gadget or skincare brand that comes through the Den, there is a pitch built around something genuinely unusual, either in what it does or how it was explained on air. We went through our full set of UK pitches looking for the ones that stood out purely for being strange.
None of these are jokes or urban legends, they are real pitches from real episodes, with real outcomes attached. A handful actually secured deals, which says something about how open the panel can be to an odd idea presented well.
She Wee
Samantha Fountain pitched She Wee, a female urination device, in season 2. It is one of the earliest examples in our records of a pitch built entirely around solving an awkward, rarely discussed problem, and it left the Den without a deal.
The product itself went on to become widely recognised outside the show regardless, which is a reminder that a no deal outcome on air does not always end the story.
Toilet Snake
David Daly's Toilet Snake, a toilet cleaning accessory, appeared in season 1 and left without a deal.
It is one of a surprising number of toilet related pitches in our records, enough that we could have built this entire list out of that category alone.
Egglu
George Winter pitched Egglu in season 9, a plastic ball designed to prevent splashback in toilets, and left without a deal.

Karen and Jo-Chan Ho pitched a fish tank pedicure business called Aqua Sheko Fish Spa in season 9, and left the Den without a deal.
Fish pedicures had a genuine moment as a wellness trend around the time this pitch aired, which is worth remembering before writing it off as a novelty idea.
Captive Media Ltd
Gordon MacSween's pitch in season 10 was for a video game controlled by urinating on a toilet, and it left without a deal.
It is one of the more inventive uses of an unglamorous everyday moment we found anywhere in our records.
Manmower
Tim Mount pitched Manmower in season 18, a beard grooming aid designed to look like a lawnmower, and left without a deal.
