In series 14, married founders Lauren and Mark Taylor walked into the Den pitching organic coconut oil as a soothing answer to eczema and cradle cap in babies.

Under the Kokoso Baby name, the business has kept expanding well past what that original pitch promised, and it remains open today.

Trading Equity for Speed

£50,000 for a 30 percent stake was the ask, a hefty chunk of equity that signals a founder chasing cash and validation more than tight control over the cap table.

Touker Suleyman matched that figure in full without haggling. His retail and manufacturing track record, built through brands like Hawes & Curtis and Ghost, made him a natural pick to help a small skincare label land on physical shelves in a hurry.

Buying the Company Back

Since then, the founders have reacquired Suleyman's share and now hold the company outright again, a reversal that stands out because most Den alumni leave their dragon on the cap table indefinitely.

Kokoso leaned further into its organic, natural-ingredient identity and landed placements in parenting media that few baby skincare labels match, stretching from that first jar of coconut oil into scalp treatments, body wash, and a broader lineup.

Awards Keep Coming

At the 2026 Beauty Shortlist Awards, the range collected the Best Baby Scalp Care Product prize, adding to a Best Baby Body Wash win the previous year. No single trophy means much on its own, but a string of them across multiple years points to a company still investing in new formulas rather than resting on the original launch.

Spring 2024 brought a new line, Freddie's First, and today the brand sells through kokoso.co.uk plus wholesale relationships with independent baby retailers rather than a marketplace storefront.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
