John Kershaw pitched a platform other founders could license to launch their own dating apps, with his own beard-themed dating app already generating national press before the show.

This one splits into two threads: the company behind the platform looks to be gone, while the app itself may have carried on a while longer.

An Offer Walked Away From

Kershaw wanted £80,000 for a 20 percent stake, and the record shows Peter Jones and Nick Jenkins were ready to back it jointly on air, before the arrangement fell through after an existing client reportedly proposed better terms, a rival deal that then also collapsed.

Losing a joint on-air offer for an outside deal that then falls apart too is an unusually rocky sequence even by this show's standards, and it left the business without either source of new capital.

Two Separate Endings

By previous accounts, the limited company behind the flagship app was formally dissolved in early 2024, while reviews and store listings for that same app continued to appear as recently as 2026.

The corporate entity did not survive, even though the app it built seems to have kept running for a while after.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
