Amer Hasan pitched a website and app comparing and booking traditional minicabs, launched before ride-hailing platforms became the default way most people got around.

The short answer is yes, based on filings referenced in earlier reporting.

Two Offers, One No

Hasan wanted £75,000 for a 35 percent stake, and the record shows Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden were both ready to invest. According to earlier reporting, he turned the offer down once filming ended, worried that handing over that much equity would clash with investors already backing the company.

That is a fairly practical calculation rather than a dramatic one. A founder who already has other people's money in the business often has less room to negotiate a Dragon's terms than someone starting from scratch.

Still Filing, Still Running

By previous accounts, Hasan found backing instead through Telefonica's Wayra accelerator programme and kept developing the comparison platform without a Dragon on the shareholder register.

Earlier reporting points to the UK company register listing the business as active, with the most recent accounts filed for the period ending December 2024, a reasonable sign of a company that has kept operating through years of much larger, better funded rivals entering the market.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
