Carol Savage and Jason White pitched a website where home cooks could post and swap recipes with people they knew, one of the first social-style platforms to reach the Den.

Close to two decades later, the site is still online and still functioning as a recipe community.

A Modest Equity Ask

The founders wanted £100,000 for just 15 percent of the company, a relatively small stake to give up, and Deborah Meaden backed the full amount solo at those exact terms.

Meaden has repeatedly backed consumer and lifestyle brands aimed at home cooks and families, making her a natural single-Dragon fit for a recipe-sharing site.

Growth Beyond The Pitch

Traffic to the site reportedly climbed into five figures monthly in the years right after broadcast, and a later tie-up put its recipe content in front of Tesco's online shoppers, a far bigger audience than the show itself could deliver.

A major grocery chain choosing to fold a third-party site's content into its own platform is not a decision made lightly, and it suggests the recipe library and its users had become genuinely valuable rather than a passing curiosity.

Present Day

The site is still up, organised by category and dietary need with user profiles attached, and it still carries contributions tied to recognisable UK food names.

Most hobby and lifestyle sites launched in that era vanished once their funding dried up, so a community built purely around user-submitted cooking content still running today counts as a genuinely durable outcome.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
