One School, A Big Ambition
Hutton wanted £50,000 for a quarter of her company, money to prove a franchise structure could actually be replicated by other operators rather than staying a one-site business forever.

Growth was slow and deliberate rather than a rocket ship. Licensees signed up one region at a time over the following years, and today close to fifty Razzamataz sites teach singing, dance and drama to children from four to eighteen, with a handful more operating overseas.

Parents booking a performing arts class are trusting a specific teacher in their town more than a national brand name, and that dynamic tends to favour a franchise structure over a single company trying to run every location from one office.
Head office supplies the curriculum and the entertainment tie-ins while each principal runs their own patch, which let the business expand without Hutton personally hiring staff at every new site, and kept the wider brand intact even as individual schools changed hands over the years.
