Naomi Kibble and Helen McAvoy, two Cardiff graduates, pitched frozen cocktail pouches designed to be partly thawed into a slushy style drink.

The short answer is yes, and this is one of those cases where the on-air handshake is not really where the story ends.

A Matched Offer, Then A Refusal

Kibble and McAvoy wanted £80,000 for a 40 percent stake, and the record shows Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne were ready to fund it together at those terms, before the pair turned the offer down once filming had wrapped, feeling it undervalued what they had built.

Walking away from a matched offer is a genuine gamble unless there is something else already lined up, and here the founders reportedly had exactly that.

A Retail Deal Instead

By previous accounts, the founders signed a supply arrangement with a major supermarket chain shortly after the episode aired, getting the pouches into more than a hundred stores within months, and the brand has since moved further upmarket into premium stockists.

Frozen cocktails suit that kind of specialist food hall shelf well, rewarding distinctive packaging over a big marketing budget, which gave the brand a realistic path to those shelves without ever needing the Dragons' money.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
