Flinty Bane and Ben Barter, trading as Kindoor, pitched Skin, an app that compares beauty prices across retailers, in series 21.

The app is still up and running, and the retail deals behind it are still intact.

A Problem Everyone Recognises

The pair wanted £50,000 for a tenth of the company. Software is generally a harder pitch on this show than something you can physically hand over, but everyone in the room understood the frustration of paying more than they had to for the same serum.

Sara Davies wrote the cheque for the full amount, reportedly grasping the concept almost instantly, which fits her tendency to move quickly whenever a pitch mirrors her own experience as a shopper.

The Real Proof Is in the Retail Deals

Users can still track a wishlist of products and get pinged when a price drops, backed by live data-sharing arrangements with Space NK, Boots, Look Fantastic and Sephora.

An app can linger on a store listing long after work on it has effectively stopped, so a download count by itself proves little. What actually matters is that those retailers are still feeding it live pricing data, and companies do not maintain that kind of arrangement with a business that has quietly folded.

What The App Covers

The app is free to download and, according to its own listings, tracks pricing across thousands of products from its partner retailers, a genuinely large catalogue for a small start-up to have negotiated access to.

For the most current picture, check the app stores directly. Recent reviews and update history will tell you more about whether this is actively maintained than any article written today.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
