Steri Spray struck a deal of £145,000 for 40% of the business, backed jointly by Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis, after Helmore appeared on the show almost broke but convinced the Dragons of the product's public health case.
The technology used patented UV light to keep shower heads free of bacterial growth, and independent testing by NSF International later found the showers achieved more than double the required germicidal kill rate for Legionella without relying on harsh chemicals, helping Helmore land contracts with NHS trusts, schools and fire stations.
