Sarah Lu pitched youdoodoll, a soft toy customised to look like a specific child, face transfer and small wardrobe included, asking £35,000 for 45 percent of the company, and Deborah Meaden agreed to fund it.

The company is still on the register, and the pitch itself sits among the earliest deals Meaden agreed on the panel.

A Pitch From The Show's Early Years

Made-to-order soft toys were a fresher idea when this pitch aired than they are now, with obvious appeal for births, birthdays and keepsakes. It is also one of the earliest series filmed, from before most of the online retail systems later gifting brands would rely on existed.

Meaden, who has consistently backed retail brands with a clear, defined product, put up the full £35,000 for the 45 percent stake, among her earliest agreements on the panel.

What The Record Shows

youdoodoll Limited is still listed as a registered UK company, and Lu's older website and social accounts can still be found. The clearest independent write-ups date from around 2008 and 2009, shortly after launch and a linked charity tie-in product for Dogs Trust.

Staying on the company register does not by itself mean a business is trading, which is worth knowing before reading too much into a live registration.

Buying One Today

Anyone hoping to order today should look for current channels directly rather than assume one still operates.

If a listing does turn up somewhere, check that it is current before paying.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
