Michele Romanow: The Engineer Turned Capital Machine

Michele Romanow
Michele Romanow was born in 1985 in Calgary and raised in Regina, then studied at Queen's University where she earned both a civil engineering degree and an MBA.
She started building young, launching a zero waste campus coffee shop called Tea Room in 2006 while still a student, and never really stopped.
The companies
Her track record runs through Buytopia and SnapSaves, which Groupon acquired in 2014, and then Clearbanc, co-founded in 2015 with Andrew D'Souza and rebranded to Clearco in 2021.
Clearco's whole idea, funding founders based on data rather than a handshake, is the same instinct she brings to the Den table.
Youngest at the table
She joined the panel in the tenth season in 2015 and was the youngest cast member at the time.
That perspective matters when you read a tech or e-commerce pitch on this site: she tends to probe the growth engine, not the founder's charisma.
