Wes Hall: From Barefoot in Jamaica to the Den

Wes Hall was born on November 6, 1968 in Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica, and moved to Toronto as a teenager.

He trained as a law clerk at George Brown College, worked in CanWest's legal division, and then founded Kingsdale Advisors in 2002 as a shareholder services and business consultancy.

The deals and the mission

His firm managed high stakes corporate battles, including Xstrata's acquisition of Falconbridge in 2006, and he later launched the BlackNorth Initiative in 2020 to combat racism in business.

In 2022 he published an autobiography, No Bootstraps When You're Barefoot, whose title tells you how far the journey ran.

His Den seat

He joined Dragons' Den in 2021 for the show's sixteenth season, one of the newer voices at the table.

His background in corporate governance and capital markets shows up when he presses founders on structure and control, not just product.

Note: This is his public record; a pitch outcome is only ever reported where we can point to a source.
