Sarah Hilleary's gluten-free cake business, B Tempted, came in asking £75,000 for 40 percent, which pencils the company out at about £187,500. Forty percent is a meaningful chunk to release, close to the point where a founder starts sharing real control, and the record shows she did hand it over: Tej Lalvani took the stake at the exact figures proposed. There was no upward creep on the equity and no cut to the cash, so what aired is a straightforward, on-the-nose agreement. Whether those cakes are still on shelves today is a separate question the episode cannot answer, and one we would verify properly before making any claim.
