The pitch

What walked into the Den

Kushan and Princey Bharthi built Cold Grind Organic, an organic cold-brew coffee sold under the Ganesha Foods parent brand, out of Calgary, Alberta.

The pair reached Dragons' Den Canada in Season 15, episode 6, which aired in 2020, seeking $300,000 for a 10% share. That works out to a $3,000,000 valuation for the coffee line.

After the show

What happened next

The boardroom decision was never released by CBC, which airs the ask figure and keeps the negotiation off the books, so we do not claim a deal either way.

The current signs are not encouraging. As of July 23, 2026 the company web address fails to resolve at all across every variant we tried, and the LinkedIn page sits nearly dormant with a tiny following. Taken together, that points to a business that has wound down, though the second signal is weak on its own.

Our read

The Hub verdict

Three hundred thousand dollars for 10% sets a $3,000,000 valuation on a cold-brew line, a middle-of-the-road ask for a packaged-beverage business hoping to prove shelf velocity.

We cannot mark the outcome because CBC never put it on the record, and the present-day picture is what pulls the verdict down: a domain that no longer resolves and a near-silent company page. None of that is airtight, but the direction of travel is hard to miss. The ask is the fact here; everything after it is a soft read.

Worth knowing: Our closed read leans on a dead domain plus a quiet social page; it is reasonably confident but not airtight, and we would update it if the brand resurfaces.
