The pitch

What walked into the Den

Olivia Canlas and Francois Deschenes built meowbox, a monthly subscription box of toys and treats for cats, and pitched it in season 10, episode 2.

They came in asking $150,000 for 15 percent, valuing the subscription business at $1 million.

What happened next

The pitch ended in a deal. Michele Romanow and Joe Mimran teamed up to take 20 percent for the $150,000 the founders wanted, per a magazine feature on the appearance. The pair held their ask and simply widened the stake a little to close it.

The box is still shipping. As of July 2026 the storefront still carried active subscriptions between $25.95 and $27.95 a month, with working sign-up buttons and four current box themes.

Our read

The Hub verdict

The equity movement is small and founder-friendly here. Olivia Canlas and Francois Deschenes asked $150,000 for 15 percent and closed at 20, so Michele Romanow and Joe Mimran split a modestly larger stake for the same money. Against a $1 million valuation, giving up an extra five points to land two Dragons is a good trade.

The subscription is still shipping, monthly boxes priced in the high twenties with live sign-up, so the confirmed deal has a healthy present tense. We note, as always, that we did not independently check whether the on-air agreement fully closed.

A clean deal with a small equity bump, and a subscription still running years later.

Worth knowing: The deal is reported from the aired episode; whether it fully closed behind the scenes is not something we independently checked.
