Our read
The Hub verdict
Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis both writing into a children's gifting website is a strong retail pairing, and Georgette Hewitt secured them at exactly the terms she pitched. The Present Club asked for £60,000 against 30%, which prices the site at £200,000, and the pair took that stake between them without renegotiating. Thirty percent split across a pair of experienced retailers is a common shape for an e-commerce raise, where the founder trades meaningful equity for buyer relationships and operational know-how. Hewitt held on to the remaining 70% while bringing in two of the panel's most retail-fluent names. What the site looks like now, or whether it still trades, is beyond what we have checked, so we stay quiet on it.
Two retail Dragons at the asking price for a third.
Worth knowing: Deal terms reflect the aired episode and are public record. Availability can change, and we only add a buy link once we have confirmed a current listing.
