The pitch

What walked into the Den

Ray Taaeb and Curtis Lane pitched Casalova, a rental-marketplace app out of Toronto, Ontario.

Their turn came in Season 11, episode 19, which aired in 2016, with a request of $100,000 for 10%. That put the app at a $1,000,000 valuation on the night.

After the show

What happened next

No reliable account of the on-air decision survives, and the network only ever released the ask. We hold the outcome as unknown rather than invent one.

The company did not stay the app it pitched. Casalova moved into property management and picked up MyPropertyManagers, so the business today may look quite different from the one on screen. The main site returned no readable content when we loaded it on July 23, 2026, while a third-party profile updated in mid-2026 still lists a small active team, a soft sign it operates.

Our read

The Hub verdict

One hundred thousand dollars for 10% is a small, tidy ask at a $1,000,000 valuation, the sort of early-stage number that says the founders wanted a Dragon's network as much as the cash.

The outcome is unknown, and the more useful analytical point is that the company that exists now is not the one that was pitched. A rental-marketplace app that pivoted into property management and made an acquisition is a different animal, so even a confirmed deal would tell you little about the business today. We hold to the ask.

Worth knowing: Live status rests on a secondary company profile rather than the site itself, which loaded empty, so we mark availability unverified.
